Potomac Bible Church
Potomac Bible Church began in March 1981. Glen Eickmeyer was the founding pastor., serving with Rocky Mountain Bible Mission. The congregation started by meeting in the hallway of Potomac School, then later in the Potomac/Greenough Community Center. They even met in a chicken coop for a while, then later the existing land was given as 99 year lease. After Eickmeyers moved to Oregon and a couple interns, Steve Fawcett became the pastor in August 1990. The South side addition to the church was added in the early 2000’s. The cross window continues to be a blessing at we look at God’s creation through each season in this beautiful valley.

What To Expect
Our Sunday morning worship service lasts around 1 hour followed by a time of fellowship and treats. Children join us in the service for singing and then we have Children's Church classes during the sermon. Our sermons teach God's word in a simple and understandable style, we encourage you to bring your own Bible but if you do not have one, we have some available. Our music is mostly traditional hymns as that is what we know. Worship from the heart as unto the Lord. Our dress is modest, comfortable, and clean. Our sign says what we mean: Come as you are!

What We Believe
The Study Of The Bible
We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired of God and inerrant in the original writings; and that they are of final authority in faith and life. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21
The Study Of God
We believe in the one God, Creator of all things, Savior of men, who hears and answers prayer. He is infinitely perfect and eternal, existing in three Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 6:4; Genesis 1:1; John 3:16; Matthew 28:19
The Study Of Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men. John 1:1-2, 14; Luke 1:30-35.
He accomplished our perfect salvation though His death on the cross as a voluntary, substitutionary sacrifice; and that our justification is made sure by the resurrection of His crucified body. Romans 3:24-25; John 10:18; 1 Peter 1:3-5, 2:24; Ephesians 1:7
The Savior has ascended to heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and advocate. Acts 1:9-10; Hebrews 7:25, 9:24; 1 John 2:1-2.
The Study Of The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity. Matthew 2:19; Acts 5:3-4.
The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Christ and bring about conviction and spiritual birth in the believers life (John 16:8-14). At salvation, the Holy Spirit indwells, sanctifies, seals, and gives spiritual gifts to the believer. 1 Corinthians 3:16, 12:11-13; Ephesians 1:13-14.
These gifts are to be exercised under the filling of the Holy Spirit to accomplish their intended purpose. Acts 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12:7
The Divine teacher also guides, comforts, and empowers us for godly living. John 16:13; Acts 1:8
The Study Of Man
Man was created in the image of God. Because of Adam's sin, men are born with a sinful nature and are separated from God. Man does not possess and quality whereby he can save himself. Genesis 1:26; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-2, 8-9.
The Study Of Salvation
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. Only such as receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord are born of the Holy Sprit, and thus become children of God. Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12, 3:3-8; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18-19; Romans 3:23-25.
The Study Of The Church
We believe in the church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and of which all regenerated people are members. Ephesians 1:22-23.
We believe that a visible church is a company of believers in Jesus Christ, immersed on a credible confession of faith, and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. Acts 2:40-42.
We believe that to these visible churches were committed, or perpetual observance, the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper, and that God has laid upon these churches the task of persuading the lost world to accept Jesus Christ as Savior, and to enthrone Him as Lord and Master. Matthew 28:19-20.
We believe; that all human betterment and social improvements are the inevitable by-product of such as Gospel.
The Study Of Future Things.
We believe in that "Blessed Hope," the personal imminent and pre-millennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His church; and in His millennial kingdom. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment. Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20:5-15.
